Yawffer is a system monitoring and controlling tool. It allows you to check up the performance of your computer in a text box that is displayed in the top-right corner of your screen (by default). The text box shows the current time, the CPU load percentage, your network devices' in and out speed, and free space on your disks. The location and look of the text can be changed.
If you open the main window, you will see that Yawffer includes a couple of extras. There is a process viewer and manager, which lists all the active processes and allows you to kill any of them. There also is a connection viewer - a graphical user interface for the DOS command netstat. It shows in real time what connections are active on your computer and to whom you are connected. You can resolve those IP address to learn a little more about what your computer is sending to the outside world. It would be great if Yawffer allowed you to add more information to the text display on your screen, but I guess it shows enough to monitor system performance. The application has good support for hotkeys to bring up the main window and the extras.
